Granny Square rug + Elephants
I'm now up to 106 squares. I've also just joined Meet Me At Mike's one Granny square a day challenge. I have actually been doing one square a day since the beginning of November, but it's nice to be part of a group challenge to give a bit of oomph to the committment.

If Felix says it's a rug then it's a rug
And he communicates this by sitting on it. Felix loves rugs. If there is a rug on a rug he will sit on that. So when I put my granny squares down to photograph even though they are not joined he authenticated my efforts as a rug.
I've got a granny square a day habit. I want a beautiful rug for my studio in time for winter. But there are so many other things I need/want to do and I have to give them all time. So I'll just do one a day and I'll have my rug when I need it without the endevour eating up all my time. I'm crossing it off on a calendar every day ala Jerry Seinfeld.

DD July 23 Redrawn
I'd like to think that some of the squiggles created during the daily drawing challenge might end up as something more substantial. Part of the idea is to switch off "the critic" so that something beautiful or interesting can emerge without having to justify its existence to the critic. I think that is what happened with this drawing.

I kind of cheated with this post and drew something I had already drawn sometime ago. I think the first version, the pen and ink sketch, was better. I did the original sketch at a nightclub and this was the girl serving drinks.
